About Summer Orchestra
Welcome to another great year of Summer Orchestra! This exciting opportunity is a available to both beginning students and all current 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students at Eastwood MS, Northview MS, and Westlane MS, and non-Washington Township students with at least one full year of instruction on an orchestra instrument.
Beginning Orchestra is open to any student that will be going into 6th grade and starting an orchestra instrument in the fall. This is a fantastic way to get a head start on the brand new instrument that you will be learning in your orchestra class. Students will be place placed in small like-instrument classes allowing the teacher to give them more individualized instruction as they work on the fundamentals of playing music.
Advanced Orchestra is open to any current 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students at Eastwood MS, Northview MS, and Westlane MS, and non-Washington Township students with at least one full year of instruction on an orchestra instrument. Students will focus on improving their musical skills in both small and large ensemble rehearsals. During the week, students will have sectional coaches to focus in individual technique building and recreation time will be included.
All classes will be held Monday, July 15 - Friday, July 19 at North Central High School. All groups will have a final concert on Friday at the conclusion of the camp.
